I need some help finding something that is comparable to these essential oils? Anyone know?
Question by lynn327: I need some help finding something that is comparable to these essential oils? Anyone know?
I have some soapmaking recipes that call for bergamont fragrance and ylang ylang fragrance. These are hard to find and when I do find them they are quite exspensive. What fragrances would be comparable to these and make a good substitute?

Petitgrain would probably be the closest to bergamot. It wouldn’t exactly be a substitute, but it’s usually about half the price of bergamot, and it has a little more complexity to it (like bergamot) than the other citruses. There really is no substitute for ylang ylang. It’s so full, flowery and spicy I can’t think of a single oil that would be close, and especially not one that’s cheaper than ylang ylang. Also, the oil is very strong.. you could get by using a very small amount, so even if it seems expensive, you’d use much less than you would another oil.
I have another suggestion. You could follow the recipe until you get to the essential oils and then make your own blend to add to the soap. Oils like lavender, peppermint, cedarwood (Juniperus virginiana), clove (a little goes a long way with this one), rosemary, even eucalyptus and pine, are all fairly inexpensive as far as essential oils go. Flowery oils are usually more expensive because it takes more flowers to produce oil than roots and leaves (generally), but as I said above, they’re strong and you’d use less of the oil.
If you’re buying the oils in a store, ask the salesperson for help, or take in some heavy paper.. use the tester bottles to try out different combinations. For example, take the piece of paper and put a drop of peppermint on it, then a drop of lavender. Wave the paper in front of your nose and see how it smells to you. You might find a combination that both makes you happy and is affordable.

Does anyone know the recipe for Special Oil #20?
Question by KdS: Does anyone know the recipe for Special Oil #20?
I know the main ingredient, according to a reliable source, is supposed to be vanilla. I’ve seen a suspicious recipe online that says it is made from some floral scents with sandalwood, but if anyone knows a more traditional recipe that would be great.

Does anyone know of good carrier/essential oils for breast massage?
Question by Corinne G: Does anyone know of good carrier/essential oils for breast massage?
I know of ylang ylang oil, almond and geranium mixtures to help the breasts grow in breast massage, but was wondering if there were any others that might be helpful. I’ve searched everywhere online but can’t find anything. Does anyone know what would be good in aiding breast growth with breast massage? Breast massage works very good for all you spectacles out there, but i would like something to aid me in reaching my goal. I don’t want answers like it doesn’t work don’t waste your time or money blah blah blah, just answer my question.

Not sure about these oils in particular, but I recommend using an ingrown hair treatment like Priva Shave, Tend Skin, Kalo IHT or Skin Doctors Ingrow Go.
There are also special pointed tweezers for ingrown hair removal.
If you have very sensitive skin and has difficulty shaving everyday then he should try Ultra Shave. I use it as a skin healing moisturiser straight after shaving. It contains grape seed extract that is 15000 times stronger than vitamin E. Its completely natural and is also Parabenz free.

Hi, Can anyone tell me if neroli essential oil is used to treat wrinkles?
Question by anonymous: Hi, Can anyone tell me if neroli essential oil is used to treat wrinkles?
I have some fine lines and wrinkles on my face. I bought neroli essential oil and want to know if it is helpful in removing wrinkles?
Best answer:
Answer by Prettyfoxygirl
As a beauty therapist student, i would say that yes, neroli, is a good choice for treating wrinkles (but be aware, you SHOULD NOT be making use of this oil when you are pregnant!!! it has an abortant factor in it!!!). You can also try using the frankincence essential oil (Because it has the same properties it also has no known negative effects). Add a few drops of any of the essential oils (above mentioned) to your lotion and massage into the skin or areas that are affected. Please make sure and research anything you are not familiar with, it will stand you in good stead. Let me know how it goes!!
What do you think? Answer below!
